Word:The preface to Weixin Shengjiao, the leader and founder, Grand Master Hunyuan Chanshi elucidated the motive for establishing this new religious order: “Heaven and Earth establish tradition (zong), and sages establish teachings (jiao). Conventionally, such an order is a religion (zongjiao), and ultimately, it is also a religion as zong and jiao.” He further stated, "Between Heaven and Earth, Yin and Yang were present as a preexistent relational entity...” “... Between Heaven and Earth was change itself. Change was the sun, moon, stars, and celestial time-keepers and also all human affairs that coexisted in harmony...” “I use my knowledge of the I-Ching (Book of Changes) to extrapolate a philosophy of the virtue of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity as a Shengjiao (sacred teaching) of endless profundity...” “I am cognizant of humanity’s desire to stand between Heaven and Earth, and the ability to follow Heaven and flourish while alive requires knowledge of the principles that harmonize Heaven and Earth.”
